Audio Engineer and Project Manager
Nich "Silky" Jones is a live, broadcast, and studio audio engineer and project manager based in New York City.
At front-of-house and on-stage as a monitor engineer, he mixes for rooms of up to 5,000 guests, for conferences, activations, summits, fundraisers, concerts and festivals with speeches, panels, large-format bands, and DJs. Clients include corporations: PwC, CVS, Levian, Armani, PEPSI, Chase and Norges Bank; media: Trevor Noah, Stephen A. Smith, Emmys Awards and SNY; government and civic: President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Governor Kathy Hochul, Senator Chuck Schumer, UNICEF and UNFPA; and music performances: Ben Böhmer, lovelytheband, Arturo O'Farrill, Alyson Williams, SOS Band, John Driskell Hopkins and Clay Cook.
As a broadcast engineer, Nich mixes for musical acts, interactive variety and sponsored entertainment shows, internal meetings, podcasts and press events. Clients include corporations: L'Oreal, Sephora, Motor Trend, Amazon Music, LEGO and Persil; media: Showtime Boxing, BIG3, SanDisk, The Crew Has It and Speedy Morman; and music performances: Hozier, Chappel Roan, Dove Cameron, Tim McGraw, Jonas Brothers, Icona Pop, Clipse and Noah Kahan.
In the studio, he records major label and independent artists with credits including Kelly Clarkson's 2024 Grammy-Nominated album Chemistry, J Balvin's 2022 Grammy-Nominated album JOSE, Sofia Carson's "Glowin' Up" and Sebastian Yatra's Platinum-certified "Una Noche Sin Pensar". Other notable clients include A$AP Ferg, Jon Bon Jovi, Lil' Kim and Travis Scott.
In addition to being an audio lead, Nich partners on projects alongside producers, directors, and operators as a project manager. He is part of the planning process, coordinating gear, directing crew, and being on-site to integrate with the venue and clients. Clients include Accra Reset Initiative, Success Academy Schools, Louis Armstrong House Museum, SONA and Feel The Space.

As well as engineering and mixing, Nich is an active technician, coordinating RF and intercoms, building and troubleshooting control and AoIP-networked systems, and interfacing with pre-configured venue's systems. He has also managed stage audio setups, supporting lead engineers and stage managers through patching, routing, and mic'ing talent.
